Edel worked for many years in the financial sector both in Ireland and the UK where she specialised in providing advice and training to corporate and individual clients in relation to legal and compliance issues.

Edel has an honours degree in Applied Psychology and a first class honours Master degree in Work and Organisational Psychology. She has completed the Master Practitioner training in Neuro Linguistic Programming and is currently working towards becoming a Practitioner Member of the Mediation Institute of Ireland (MII). She is a registered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and is also a member of its division of Work and Organisational Psychologists (DWOP). She was appointed to the Committee of DWOP in 2009.

Edel is also actively involved in various community and statutory organisations. She is a Director of the Board of the Northside Counselling Service and is also a mediator with Mediation Northside which offers Workplace, Community, Parental and Elder Mediation within the Community. She is the consumer representative member of the Board of the National Cancer Screening Service and also serves on the Board’s Audit Committee.

In additional to her work at Speedpak, Edel is an independent consultant specialising in Facilitation, Training, Team Development and Coaching.
